Lindsay Roberts – Part three of three parts
In John 5:6, Jesus asked the invalid man beside the Pool of Bethesda, “Do you want to be whole?” Instead of listing his many excuses, all the man had to say was “yes.” “Yes” was the right answer! “Yes” was the answer of faith in God.
The Man the invalid was looking for, the Man who could heal him and make him whole, was asking him the right question. It was only after the invalid cast off all his old ideas of how his healing would come about and put his faith in God, instead of in his preconceived notions; only then could Jesus bring wholeness to him.
Jesus is still looking for people of faith today, those who will forget the other answers and excuses they have stored up during their lifetimes. The answer He wants to hear from us when He asks, “Do you want to be made whole?” is “Yes, Lord!” Then our healing can begin!
