Jehoshaphat, the mighty king of Judah declared to his people: “Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the Lord your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper” (II Chronicles 20:20).
That’s what King Jehoshaphat commanded his people to do. Now those are interesting words coming from the mouth of a king, aren’t they? The king is supposed to be the number one man in the country. Yet, Jehoshaphat was smart enough to know God’s prophet knew something about prospering that he needed to know. The prophet Amos put it this way: “Surely the Lord God will do nothing but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets” (Amos 3:7).
Yes, God has secrets. He alone knows fully how He created this universe. He knows everything about you. He knows all of His laws.
Among God’s secrets are those of true biblical prosperity. Yes, God has a simple way for His people to prosper ― spiritually, physically, and financially― in your family, in your emotions, and in every area of your life. He made all the laws by which this universe operates―both the natural laws and the spiritual laws. He knows how the spiritual impacts the natural and how the natural influences the spiritual.
Not only does God know how to bless His people so they will prosper, He has all power to make that happen. It is God Who grows a seed; man can only plant it, water it, and cultivate it with faith. It is God Who heals a body; even the finest surgeon or physician can only do so much to help a person get into position for God’s healing power to flow. It is God Who saves a soul; even the most anointed man or woman can do little more than pray for lost souls, preach the Gospel, and extend the invitation to accept Christ.
To whom does God reveal His spiritual truths, including His truths about prosperity? To whom does God impart a measure of His power? To His prophets ― to those who study His Word, are filled with His Spirit, are called according to His purposes, and are willing to be His mouthpiece to their generation ― no matter the cost to them personally or the ridicule they might endure.
Heed God’s prophets today. They can help you to prosper!
